Pioneer MTO Complete Acrylic with FLXguard Patio Awning

Acrylic Fabrics

Acrylic fabric is a woven cloth that allows air to circulate through the fabric. They can handle burning sun, drenching rain, freezing ice and snow, wicked winds, irritating dust and dirt, pesky bugs-you name it. The woven acrylic cloth can quickly dry and although not recommended, it is able to be rolled up when wet. Since woven acrylic is very breathable, the air constantly moving through the fabric means that the temperature under the canopy will stay cooler than under vinyl awning fabric. Since the patterns and colors are woven in the acrylic fabrics and not painted - you can trust that your canopy will stay vibrant for years.

Carefree of Colorado acrylic awnings are also protected with our exclusive, patented FLXguard. FLXguard is made from a Carefree proprietary polymer-based material which has the look and protection properties of expensive metal wraps at an economical price. You must have FLXguard in order to install acrylic fabric.

The Carefree Pioneer manual awning is the easiest full size patio awning to operate. No need to worry about unlocking travel locks or spring mechanisms with this awning.  To open the Pioneer, simply turn the hand crank.  Once it's is fully open, slide the single track slider arm up to the roller and tighten the rafter knobs.  Now you can raise the roller with the lift handles to any desired pitch.  It's that simple.

For an exceptionally taut canopy, backwind the crank to make your canopy as tight as a drum.  There's never a need to re-tension your canopy.  In breezy conditions, the worm gear mechanism will not allow your roller to unwind.  When finished using your awning, lower the roller tube, loosen the rafter knobs and slide the rafter arms to the closed position.  Just turn the hand crank in the opposite direction until the roller is tight against the coach and you're ready for travel.  That's it.  There's no locks or straps to fuss with to prevent billowing in transit.  The crank assembly automatically locks the roller in place.

Pioneer awnings' size (i.e.: 12' to 21') refers to the center-arm to center-arm measurement.  Actual fabric length will be slightly shorter, while overall complete awning length will be slightly longer.

Installation Difficulty = 4 out of 5 wrenches.  You can install this awning yourself with a helper and power tools (drill).  Any RV awning requires unobstructed access to an awning rail.  When mounting to a surface that does not have an awning rail, you will need to install one first.

NOTE: THIS IS A COMPLETE AWNING. A complete Pioneer Awning is composed of two components: One FRTA (Fabric Roller Tube Assembly) and one Pioneer Arm Set (Carefree Awning Hardware).  The two components of a complete awning most often ship together by FedEx or Freight Truck, but may be shipped separately.
